Update - 22/12/10

Discussions on what to include in the music video were made today via the music group Facebook page. The ideas were shared between the 3 of us, and each person came back and said which of the ideas they believed worked and didn't work, and any which we could alter to make better. These included:

  • messing around in shops, trying on hats etc.
  • food fighting
  • drinking, smoking
  • playground, acting like children

Update - 15/12/10

As a way to keep the group in contact, I created a Facebook group so that ideas can be shared and posted easily via the social networking website. We can also remind each other of dates and items which we need to find and bring to certain events, and hopefully this will keep progression moving.

Filming - Success

The filming of the gig was a success on saturday. We got the 3 desired shots - one from the front of the gig in the audience, one from a balcony at the left side of the stage, and the third at the back on a balcony for long and mid shots. The bassist, who I originally contacted for permission to film, was able to get us a backstage pass which allowed us to get the shot from the side of the stage, as this was part of the VIP section.
We have now watched every clip we have recorded,  and cut out the clips which are too shaky, are blurred or are generally not usable. I have also made a shot list of all of the sections which, as a group, we felt were the best shots of each section, which you can see below.

Update - 6/12/10

The venue has alowed us to film, as well as the band themselves. We have now booked out four of the school cameras for the weekend, of which 3 will be manned by the group members. Everything is now set and ready for the filming date.

Here is a link to the gig as shown on Facebook

Voice recording group brainstorming

Whilst brainstorming, we decided to use a more media-esque approach and use some voice recording. As the discussions were so long, we had to split them into four parts, which can be found below. In these videos, me, Louise & Bradley discuss our ideas for the music video as we see it in our minds eye, and share ideas as each section of the music plays.

The Skints - Responce

I have now spoken to the bassist, Jonathan Doyle, from The Skints over Facebook. Unfortunately, it will not be possible for us to set up tripods on the stage at the venue. However, he has said that there is a balcony next to the stage which is reserved for those allowed backstage which he may be able to get us into. This would mean we would get a shot from the left-back of the band, allowing behind shots and shots of the crowd. We will be able to integrate these very well into the video. If not, we will be limited to shots from the crowd and a slightly elevated balcony, which we can also make work.
The main plus from this is that we are now all set to film at the gig without any problems.
